How to make 3 avocado face masks

Maybe you have already tried a bunch of face masks for your dry or mature skin. But avocados are a wonderful addition to your homemade face masks. They are rich in natural oils and potassium, high in protein and contain both Vitamins A, B, D, E and K. These super simple avocado face masks work perfectly on all skin kinds and are particularly pleasing for mature, dry, combination and normal skin.

It’s best to use ripe, fresh, organic avocados. Make sure to mash it up into a creamy pulp. Regrettably, avocado turns brown fast, thus you’ll have to use these masks as you make them.
I recommend using these avocado face masks after applying a face scrub. The scrub exfoliates while these face masks moisturizes.

Avocado face masks

Classic Avocado Face Mask
This classic recipe for dry skin involves only 2 ingredients: avocados and honey. Both are mostly moisturizing.
Ingredients
½ very ripe, soft avocado
¼ cup honey
Directions:
Mash the avocado in a bowl, then stir in honey. Apply to skin and leave for 10 minutes. Rinse face with a cool washcloth.
Carrot & Avocado Mask for Dry Skin
This is a wonderful mask for dry skin and involves a few more ingredients than the classic avocado face mask. Carrots have anti-inflammatory properties, helping to revitalize and tone the skin and contain important amounts of potassium. Avocados, honey and egg yolks are all moisturizing.
Ingredients:
1 carrot, peeled and de-stemmed
1/2 avocado
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1 egg yolk
Steam or boil the carrot until it’s so tender a fork can mash it easily. Mash the carrot until it turns in a creamy consistency paste or blend it. Mash the avocado in with the carrot pulp. The avocado must be one of those wonderfully ripe, mushy avocados. If it’s not ripe, it will be hard to mash with a fork. I recommend putting a non-ripe avocado in the blender with the carrot to blend. Add honey and egg yolk and mix together by hand. Apply the composition on a clean face and leave it to act for 15 minutes. Wash off the avocado face mask with a warm washcloth and pat the skin dry with a towel. Slather on moisturizer.
Buttermilk and Avocado Face Mask
This mask is incredibly nourishing for dehydrated skin. Sprinkle in flour or cornstarch to thicken as necessary. You can also use this on frizzy, dry hair as well.
Ingredients
1/4 very ripe avocado
1 tbsp buttermilk or heavy cream
a sprinkle of cornstarch or flour
Directions: Mash or blend the avocado in with just enough buttermilk or heavy cream to create a paste. Sprinkle in flour or cornstarch to thicken.
